The Best Rooftop Bars in Washington D.C.

Rock and Roll Hotel, Washington DC, Rooftop Bar, Best BarsThere’s nothing like a cheeky lunchtime drink when the weather’s nice, or that well-deserved couple after work, and at the weekend, those lazy days spent soaking up the sun ice-cold beer in hand. Now before we’re accused of being alcoholics, stop, think and you too will agree. And where better to while away those alcohol-consumed hours than looking out over the city, basking in a suntrap of a rooftop bar? Well, we didn’t think there was, so we’ve located the best bars in D.C. offering revellers a welcome breeze and a break from all that traffic.

Biergarten Haus
Everything we love from this establishment, just a little higher up. Expect tables made from barrels, fluttering German flags and those liter-sized tankards filled with that oh-so delectable German beer.

DC9
Less hustle and bustle than other nearby bars and superb weeknight deals to boot. $3 both for beers of the week and for rail drinks, all served until 8 pm.

Donovan House Hotel
Drink in the stunning views of the 14th Street Corridor, downtown, and Northeast D.C. looking all the way out to the National Basilica.

Eden
Make your way to the Garden of Eden for hip-hop, house and reggae sounds while supping on champagne.

El Centro D.F.
$4 Margaritas, Sangria and Mexican Beers all week from 5 pm to 7 pm, need we say more? Oh, and it’s tented, so come rain or shine, you can fiesta!

P.O.V. Roof Terrace and Lounge
If after something a little up market, W Hotel’s P.O.V. is the establishment for you. With extraordinary views practically into the White House’s rooms, you are quite literally a cut above.

The Rock and Roll Hotel
Renowned for its music gigs and crazy-cool parties, dance the night away surrounded by an eclectic mix of vintage tiling, ornate tables and pew-like benches.
